Growing up in the countryside, I tend not to overly romanticise the fact that I wore wellies on a regular basis, that a Barbour wax jacket was a wardrobe staple, and that the roaring sound of Rover Defenders was basically the equivalent of the ringing of a tram (for all the city dwellers out there). But as I’ve grown older - having spent as much time in cities as I did in the Bavarian no-man’s-land (which I love, don’t twist my words) - I’ve developed a nostalgia that insists spending getaways in the countryside is the ultimate luxury. Inhaling the cold winter air feels like a fountain of youth, and walking through muddy puddles somehow strips away all the stress of city life.
So, buckle up and join me on a (pretend) trip to the countryside and its many fashion options!
Lots of love,

ALL WHITE AND A HINT OF GREEN
This is a look that is, of course, very impractical if you plan on running through mud, but for a little walk with a coffee mug in hand on the way to your local bakery, it’ll do the trick!

THE WAX JACKET
I own two wax jackets (one blue, one brownish-green), but I’m currently thinking about getting a long coat by Barbour. I also love the versions by Toteme and COS, although they’re not waxed. The boxy cut is great, and clothes can easily be layered underneath!
