Oh what a week! Bags are almost packed to return home for the holidays and the rest of my belongings is stored in boxes, as I’m moving flats (finally - after almost 1,5 years of searching). It’s a weird end of the year feeling, as so much is changing around me and I have not properly sat down to relax, do yoga or really breathe in weeks. A bit of a restlessness mixed with a lot of anticipation (and of course anxiety, what would I do without you, my old friend…). This week’s edit is dedicated to Christmas, to - if not already there - get us all in the right mood. Let’s not forget “it's the most wonderful time of the year”!
Lots of love,
Franzi xx
THE GOOD MOVIE
Not your “typical” Christmas movie, as only about 25 minutes of “Meet Me in St. Louis” take place during “that” time of the year - though it’s considered as one of the best holiday sequences in cinema history! The movie is about young love and childish fears in a year of a turn-of-the-century family - oh and Judy Garland is singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. Watch it here & enjoy!
THE GOOD WEAR
Whenever Christmas is approaching I’m leaving my natural habitat of clothes in beige, grey and navy and I’m gravitating towards tartan, red and all sorts of colours that symbolise coziness and homely feelings for me. This outfit embodies all the x-mas vibes, I’m probably not able to put into words!
Mark Cross Bag II Hermès Nailpolish II Anissa Kermiche Earrings II Arket Jumper II Totême Jacket II Polo Ralph Lauren Trousers II Sawade Chocolate Mushroom II Raey Scarf II Rover Vivier Mules
THE GOOD CALENDAR / CAUSE
The lovely Stella von Senger took a series of wonderful images picturing the dramatic sky during lockdown - with its different shapes of clouds, shades of blue, pink and yellow. She merged this series into a A0 calendar („We all see a sky“) for 2022 which she is now selling. 50% of the profit is being donated to @visionsforchildren - sounds like the perfect x-mas present to me! Hurry up - it’s a limited edition & get all additional info here!
THE GOOD TABLE SETTING
Dinners ready - Christmas version!
&K Amsterdam Cutlery II Hoff Interieur Wreath II Cote Table Mat II H&M Plates II H&M Table Cloth II Salonette Napkin Crackers II RCR Champagne Glasses
THE GOOD BITE
I introduced Skye McAlpine in Edit No. 15 already - her dishes are delightful to look at, as she masters the art of making food look beautiful like no other (maybe that’s related to the fact that she’s living la dolce vita in Venice and London) and when it comes to bringing us into the Christmas mood, I recommend to stop by her wonderful account and get inspired by her decoration & recipes!
THE GOOD ORNAMENT
Not done decorating yet? Here’s something I really got into over the last couple of years - weird ornaments!
Pear II Brezl II Cards II Oyster II Mushroom II French Fries II Fried Egg II Pea II Rainbow II Artichoke II Baseball II Planet
THE GOOD DRINK
The ever charming Stanley Tucci graced the world with his cocktail-making sessions during lockdown and even created a special Christmas cocktail in 2020 - it’s time to rewind to this gem and maybe try his boozy creation ourselves.
