THE TRANSITIONAL SWEET SPOT
The six weeks you wear jeans, a good jumper and loafers. Before it gets too hot.
Dear friends,
Spring is already springing hard. You know this feeling. You left the house without a coat and felt so heroic. The. Best. Feeling. The light is doing something new in the evenings. Everything is almost, almost, almost.
This is the best time of year to get dressed! And almost nobody talks about it.
It lasts six weeks if you’re lucky. Eight if the weather stays kind. A small window of perfection where the answer to “what do I wear” is always the same thing: the perfect jeans, a good jumper, cool laofers. The combination is so complete, so self-evidently correct for this exact moment, that choosing anything else starts to feel like a mistake. Yes. I mean it.
The sweet spot: the perfect jeans, a good jumper, cool loafers
The heavy coat is gone. The linen isn’t ready (went to COS the other day. Couldn't do it).
Fashion skips straight over it, of course. The magazines go directly from heavy coats to linen. Micro trends are microtrending (I just read that cropped trench coats are a thing. Groundbreaking). Nobody stops to say: wait. This bit. Right here. This is the best part.
There's no word for this season in any language I know. Well – in German we call it “Übergangswetter”, which is accurate but not exactly romantic. The French probably have something better.
Here’s how to wear it well while it lasts…
Lots of love,
Franzi
NAVY ON NAVY: The classic. Navy jumper, blue jeans, dark flat shoe – and somehow it never looks like you tried to match. It just looks right. This is the combination that has been working forever and will work for a thousand more years. When in doubt, go navy on navy. There is nothing left to figure out.

THE SPRING VERSION of the formula. Swap the dark denim for something lighter – cream, ecru, off-white – and the whole outfit exhales. Still a jumper. Still a flat shoe. But suddenly there’s light in it. This is the look for the first genuinely warm afternoon, when you want to wear colour but the colour in question is white.

ONE COLOUR RISK: That’s all it takes. The red jumper is the sweet spot’s secret weapon – it does everything the navy version does, but louder. Still jeans. No effort. But suddenly you’re outfit is more interesting and you didn’t have to think about it. The rest of the look stays completely quiet. The jumper does all the talking.

In south of Europe, it's already rather warm and jeans season is probably gone...Funny part, rare are the brave who wear sandals, other then turists from the North.
It's in our minds I guess... 😊
