Do you know the feeling of not buying something, and then it’s sold out? Or passing on an item because it was too expensive at the time, and it slips away? I do, and it used to infuriate me. But I've learned that you always get a second chance. You just need to search for it, and search for it, and search for it. There's a special joy in vintage shopping - stumbling upon one of those items you missed out on - and the joy of finding it, sometimes for a better price, is truly priceless.
One of my best vintage buys is an Isabel Marant Étoile shearling jacket I found years after I let it slip through my fingers, or my tiny Mark Cross bag that I love so much. I could spend hours on Vestiaire Collective, hunting for hidden bargains, timeless classics, and sending them to friends. My favorite vintage platform, founded in 2009, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Since its launch, they have listed over 50 million items and sold 2.5 million bags on Vestiaire Collective. An impressive 12 million initial purchases could be avoided, proving that someone's trash is truly someone else's treasure! Every discovery tells a story, making the journey just as rewarding as the purchase itself.
I’ve selected some faves from my wishlist and curated looks that are perfect for autumn season and beyond that! Have fun discovering some designer gems!
Lots of love,
Franzi
A look I’d definitely wear for a Sunday stroll with a sophisticated touch - country meets city with the oversized Toteme coat and cowboy boots, giving off Lady Di vibes. The bag (“Lady Dior”, said to be the princess's favourite - how fitting) has enough space to fit another clutch, a book, a croissant, and your favourite scarf.
